Panaia Monastery is a monument of cultural heritage in Dhërmi – At the top of the village, in the dominant part, stands the “Panaia Monastery”. The Church of St. Mary, located within the territory of the Monastery, belongs to the 13th – 14th century. It is very white and stands out for its architecture and special appearance. The church is of the single-domed basilica type and dates from the 14th century. Its interesting frescoes, still in very good condition, were commissioned by the Archbishop of Himara and Delvina Ioanni in 1781. It can only be reached on foot.
