The Mill Path

The Mill Path

The Mill Path is located between Dhërmi beach and the village on the cliff. It is 1.5 km long, it is all paved with stones, and there are helpful signs to know where you are passing and the history of the special points along this path. You can start this trail on the secondary road of Dhërmi beach, or near the source of Potam in the village. It is called the “Path of Mills” because it is full of mills, which once worked with the flow of the Potami spring. Of them, only abandoned buildings remain today, which are being restored as part of nature by being covered with bushes and leaves. Once this road was only used by the villagers to walk down to the beach, but now it has become a tourist attraction and is visited by thousands of people every year.

During this walk you will be able to see two centuries-old churches, the picturesque waterfall, the traces of the first hydroelectric plant built in the villages of Albania, etc. One of these attractions is dërstili, or Trovea as it was otherwise known, which was the place where the women of Dhërmi village washed their large clothes and woolen carpets.

The route is easy to describe on foot and is easily accessible for all ages. Who wants to continue further, can continue climbing to the village.
