Between the villages of Ilias and Dhërmi on a hill with a stunning landscape from the sea is the Monastery of Saint Theodhor. The monastery was built in the 14th century on the ancient temple of the god Zeus and Artemis, the goddess of hunting, it was completed almost 500 years later. The monastery is located on a wide hill covered with olive and cypress trees between Dhërmi and Gjipe Canyon. The monastery became accessible to tourists a few years ago when a narrow road was built that ends at a rest area a few hundred meters from the monastery. From here, tourists can visit the beach of Gjipe, one of the most beautiful and least explored of the south coast.
